Athletics in the College Process
-
Being an Athlete in college requires a lot of time and energy. Luckily, there are many ways to stay active in college, through Division Level, Club, or Intramural teams. While many students will play sports in college, only a select few will be recruited to play on the Division level. You've probably heard of someone who was recruited directly by a college, right? However, a majority of students wishing the play Division I and Division II sports in college must do a lot of marketing and outreach to college coaches to be noticed. The first step is to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center (formerly the clearinghouse). This website will give you all the up to date information on requirements and the process for recruitment of college athletes. If you would like to play sports at the Division I or II level, you should complete the registration by the end of your junior year.
